The reason the ball goes so far is because of the huge hot clubface. This is the biggest face of any of the Ping drivers to date. And the designers added weight near the heel and subtracted it in the crown. You see there is an external heel pad that makes up almost ten percent of the entire weight of the Ping K15 Driver. To counter balance the added weight, they chopped off some of the rear in the crown. It is recessed which moves the weight lower giving the club a very low center of gravity.
The Ping K15 Driver has an elongated head design that combines with an external weight pad to position the center of gravity for higher launching and longer carry drives. It is engineered with Straight Flight Technology (SFT) which promotes natural club head rotation by concentrating approximately 10% of the head mass towards the heel. A larger face increases forgiveness and ball velocity for greater distance and accuracy.
Choosing the right club can be a challenge and this is why having a fitting makes perfect sense.
NOTE: Some irons are designed to rust over time. This is not considered adverse wear. Normal ball marks on the faces; minor scratching on the soles; no significant dings on the heads; no significant wear on the shafts.
