You know, Mizuno has two famous line-ups, the MX line and the MP line. It is said that the MP line is designed for the professionals and the low handicappers, while it is for sure that the MX line is for the rest of us. Launched with designing to be game improving clubs, the MX-100 Irons hit the market, became available at golf store uk in 2008 and aimed at the mid to higher golf handicappers. However, the MX-100 Iron are cast, not forged, yet it doesn't affect you on enhancing your confidence in this game.
The most noticeable thing in the Mizuno MX-100 Iron is the Y-Tune Technology, which offers super game improvement performance for the mid to high handicap player. Y-Tune Technology successfully expands and extends the sweet area of the clubface out towards the toe to deliver amazing forgiveness on mis-hits. This Y-Tune Technology receives the XL designation because the "oversized" sweet area is carried throughout the set from the easy to launch, maximum distance 4 and 5 hybrid irons, through the extreme pocket cavity mid-irons, down to the highly accurate scoring irons.
The goal of creating the MX-100 Iron is to make it easier to hit, meanwhile providing the maximum forgiveness. Finally, the MX-100 Iron did it! As with most Mizuno irons there are a variety of shafts available, both in graphite and steel. The MX-100s were equipped with MX Lite steel shafts in stiff flex despite having larger heads, they are quite light-weight. If you're not used to lighter clubs it may take afew swings to get used to. But in terms of performance, the large heads on these irons really did help to make them very easy to hit, most players should have no problem launching the golf ball with the MX-100s. And this was generally the case through the whole set. Higher handicappers who prefer to have hybrids in their bag as opposed to intimidating long irons, may have that point of view changed after trying these clubs out. Whether it's off the fairway or the tee, the longer MX-100 Irons are probably some of the easiest to hit long irons ever made.
