I have one cat that loves twist ties. He never chews them up, just likes to carry them around and throw them around. We do everything in our power to keep them away from him, but he always finds one. One of our cats loves to chew on plastic shopping bags. Again, doesn't eat it, just chews them all up so you find a pile of little plastic bits on the floor. We don't allow him to have them, but somehow he finds them. I'm convinced one of our cats can open and close doors so they can get to these things. The cat that loves twist ties also loves dog bones, which annoys our dog to no end. She gets them all nice and hidden and he goes and gets them out and carries them to where she is so he can chew on them right in front of her. Another one likes to put his paws in my back pockets (which he can reach by simply standing on his hind legs...he's very tall). I don't know what he's looking for in there, but hopefully he'll find it. He also likes to sit on your shoulders.
